- I teach children to read Hebrew
- They learn the prayers for being honored with an aliyah and for Haftarah
- They become able to take part in the Shabbat service as full participating members
- I help them prepare a Torah reading and/or a Haftarah reading
- I help them to write a D’var Torah speech
- They learn how to chant Torah and Haftarah trope
- We read the Torah together and discuss it as equals
- They learn in a child-centered environment
